What’s your club called?

Chatsworth Tennis Club.

What sport/activities do you do?

Tennis (including wheelchair tennis and para tennis)

When and why did it start?

The club started in the 1890 with just outdoor courts, then 2 indoor courts were built in 1998.

How many members are there?

We have approximately 250 members including juniors.

How should I get started?

We hold 60 minute beginner sessions and 90 minute improver sessions for adults during the week, full details are on the website

Do I need to take lessons before joining?

It's probably best to attend a couple of our group sessions before joining. You don't have to join the club, visitors are welcome too.

What are the benefits?

Tennis is a good work out and it's fun.

How much time do I need to put into it a week?

You can play as much as you want to

What equipment do I need?

Trainers and tracksuit bottoms - we have rackets that we loan out.

How much does it cost?

You can hire an outdoor court for as little as £5. Prices for classes and indoor court hire varies - details are on shown on our website

Is it accessible/adaptable?

Our facilities are accessible, and we run wheelchair tennis and para tennis sessions.
